Members of the Executive Committee and liaison Federal

The Executive Committee of the Women Health.org eye is responsible for making and implementing the activities of the organization. This small group of volunteers were chosen so that the important and necessary expertise and skills would be available. The Committee meets monthly and subgroups working on specific projects communicate frequently.

Dong Feng Chen, MD, PhD, President

Research projects of Dr. Chen is repairing retinal damage and disease by neural stem / progenitor cell strategy; molecular mechanisms underlying optic nerve regeneration, neural and glial contribution to diabetic retinopathy early

Ilene K. Gipson, PhD
Senior Scientist at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, Boston, MA, Professor of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School (HMS), Boston

Dr. Gipson is a co-founder and former president of the Women Health.org eyes. She is a cell biologist and was named "Ocular Surface Scholar" at Schepens. It is a research conducted in ocular surface diseases, some of which are prevalent in women. She is also an experienced teacher and lecturer, and is a specialist in managing groups of people to optimize their efforts.

Janine Austin Clayton, MD (formerly Smith)
Deputy director of the Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH), and clinical investigator, National Eye Institute, NIH; Connect Federal Health.org eyes woman

Dr. Clayton is an ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and external disease and uveitis and conducts research focused on immune-mediated diseases of the eye. His experience with the diagnosis, treatment and clinical study of eye diseases, particularly inflammatory diseases, which disproportionately affect women and knowledge about women's health and sex / gender effects on health and disease knowledge to provide WEH.org.

Alice J. Adler, PhD
Emeritus Senior Scientist at Schepens and Associate Professor Emerita of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School

Dr. Adler is a biochemist with many years of experience in conducting research on the components of the retina and mechanisms of vision. She is the writer for the WEH.org applying the skills acquired through grant applications and writing newspaper articles, to communicate our message to the public and for professionals.

Mary Elizabeth Hartnett, MD
Professor of Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal Service and Surgery, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Neurobiology and Anatomy, Director of Pediatric Retina, Principal Investigator Laboratory of Retinal Angiogenesis, the University of Utah, Moran Eye Center

Stem cell research is invalidated because of one person.
I am a moron.
I wonder why there is stem cell research being done around the globe.
